Pregnancy?: At 36, ovulation can begin to be delayed , which will delay the onset of your "regular" menses. The spotting can result from higher but irregular estrogen production, which causes light bleeding ("brown spotting"). As one ages, it takes more stimulation to force the ovary to produce an egg, so delays are common. Check a serum HCG to make sure you are not pregnant.
