Low dose oral BC: The low amount of estrogen and progestins in low dose oral bcp's do not stimulate the lining of the uterus sufficiently such that when stopped each month there is actual visible bleeding. It is important to take each active pill punctually within the hour taken the previous evening. If pregnancy is suspected, obtain a serum HCG test, which is very accurate.

Yes: Yes, it can be normal to have no menses on the pill. However the pill is not 100% effective and it is always a good idea to check for pregnancy at least the first time this happens
