A member asked:

What r the chances of fecal incontinence after delivery of a baby?is it more common with normal delivery or surgery?after how many days symptoms show?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fecal incontinence: Depending on the extent of difficulty with a vaginal delivery, there may be tearing of the sphincter which can produce incontinence. With a C-section, there is no negative anatomic injury to the pelvic support structures, so incontinence does not routinely occur.
