Fx at menopausal age: Any fracture at an age near or at menopause should alert your provider to start you on medication to prevent osteoporosis/osteopenia. For example, most do not realize that a fx of a long bone carries a 20% chance of associated death. It is important for women to be supplemented with preventive medication.
