If you fell from: ground level, then the impact should not be severe enough to warrant X-rays, though persistent point pain in the neck or shoulder is an indication for suspected fracture. Most women your age do not have thin osteoporotic bones and should have enough padding from your muscles to survive a ground level fall even on hard surfaces. You may have a muscle contusion though which will hurt for a week.

X-Ray: Absolutely. I think you need one of you neck/back and also a 2 view chest x-ray. Very easy to break a rib. Definitely go and see someone. Good luck
