Is it safe to prescribe low dose birth control , for treament of fibroids & possible endometriosis for 48 yo w/occassional hypertension, & frequent tachycardia? gyno said perimenopausal. any additional insight would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

Options: This is a very specific case better discussed one on one. In general fibroids and endometriosis can be managed surgically or medically. Management depends on the size, the location and the severity of symptoms. Oral contraceptives could possibly be useful if the symptom is heavy bleeding. Other fibroid symptoms may not be helped by periods. Blood pressure monitoring is warranted.
