Sepsis: ...is a syndrome, not a true diagnosis, and is often the final common pathway for multiple debilitating diseases that compromise your host defenses (diabetes, cancer, immobility, kidney disease, empysema etc,). Sepsis itself can predispose to additional reductions or impairments and host defense. Multiple "episodes" of sepsis, R unfortunately not rare.
