Doctorordered codeine-guaifen & teslan perles for my cough (pneumonia) it is becoming less effective is there any other prescription i could ask about?

See MD: If your symptoms are persisting, especially through codeine, you need to be reexamined by your MD. Most likely you are experiencing upper airway hypersensitivity where the cough reflex is on overdrive. A full history and exam is indicated possibly a course of steroids and a cough suppressant like tessalon or mucinex can be continued. Codeine cough syrup is highly effective but dangerous/addictive

No: If you are already getting tolerant to an opioid the worst thing you can do is elevate the opioid dose. Cough that continues should be re-evaluated
