It is highly: unlikely that you would have this sort of immediate reaction to the Lipitor. Continue the medication and wait a few weeks and see if it resolves. If not, then discuss it with your health care provider who prescribed the medication.

Stop lipitor: Since lipitor is not a drug which threatens health when withdrawn completely, consider stopping the drug for 2 weeks and see if the pain goes away. You may reintroduce it back after the pain has gone away and observe if the problem resumes. I do agree that it is unusual to have such an immediate reaction.
