Hi i am type2 diabetic and also suffer with sinus problems about a month ago i got the flu but it cleared 3 days later since then i have hardly any sense of taste and probably about 50% of smell what could cause this?

Taste: taste sensation related to smell sensation. Probably have injured/swollen olfactory nerve endings. may recover in 3 weeks to 6 months. Protect nose from other irritants, avoid those with colds.
