I had double by pass went into afib does this happen after by pass?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not uncommon.: Atrial fibrillation may occur in up to 10-30% of patients after bypass surgery. The incidence is higher in patients who have had valve surgery. In patients who has bypass, it may be associated with inflammation such as pericarditis, electrolyte abnormality etc. Return to regular rhythm is common but there is a small incidence of recurrence or stroke. Follow-up is important.
