24 hours: The dosing schedule is usually daily or twice daily. It depends why you want it to be 'out of your system'. For example if you are going to have surgery then it depends on the type of surgery you are going to have & the associated risk of bleeding. In most cases, surgeons are happy to proceed when the person has not received their clexane for 24 hours.

The "beauty" is: that the answer is "quickly" allowing surgery or other procedures during which bleeding may occur to be done safely by stopping it the day of surgery.... It most likely clears completely in 12 hours. Hope this is helpful Dr Z
