A member asked:

As a paraplegic i've been using clexane injections since 2016. due to bruising on my belly i'd like to stop this medicine, is it safe? what precautions should i take? should i take something else? what are my options?

Discuss with your dr: Thus drug is used to,prevent blood clots. Since you are not moving your legs, the blood is more prone to clot. Oral anti coagulation with aspirin, Coumadin, or dicumerol is also a possibility along with graduated compression hose, vena canal filter, or other options. Continue current treatment until you discuss risks and benefits of stopping and/or other options. Good luck
