Duloxetine: Duloxetine could cause either constipation or diarrhea. If constipation started only after starting it, it may be a aside effect. Not adviced to stop med abruptly

Not duloxetine: Duloxetine is not often a cause of constipation. I would consider diet or other medications as more likely causes of short-term constipation.

Yes: Yes, a change in bowel habits is not an uncommon side effect of duloxetine. It generally decreases with continued treatment, lasting 1-2 weeks after starting the drug and after dose changes. If it continues beyond or becomes intolerable, let your doctor know (you may also mention it at your next visit). In the mean time, you may add a stool softener like docusate to help with the constipation.
