Not the same: if your blood pressure was controlled on norvasc, better stay on it, switching to a beta blocker (metoprolol) which is a different category of blood pressure medication might not be a good idea, moreover, metoprolol cannot be stopped abruptly when you restart the norvasc . Call your doctor go to urgent, or get a HealthTap virtual consult for a prescription, best wishes

No: Quick answer: no; Norvasc and metoprolol work in different ways. There are some questions, including: why you have a Rx for metoprolol? (Did you stop taking it in past? Are you supposed to start later vs. now?) Metoprolol directly affects your heart rate, Norvasc doesn’t. Getting an early refill may be as simple as calling your doctor. Either way, your doctor needs to be involved in this guidance.
