A member asked:

I am 20 years old and have a mongolian spot in my upper back. will it ever go away? what can i do to make it go away?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe not: A Mongolian patch/spot is composed of cells that make more melanin pigment in the skin. These are present from the time the skin forms and persist through life. They can fade some as the skin thickens or persist & darken. They can be covered, but there is no simple treatment.
