Confusing post: The tests are done to confirm that you have the problem & not something that mimics the disease. They do follow up blood tests to monitor the response to treatment & gauge when they need to start a thyroid supplement (if needed)

First a comprehensive history and physical exam with particular attention to the thyroid.Then measures of TSH,T4,TRIa and TRAB.This may lead to thyroid scan Ann radioactive iodine uptake of the thyroid.
