A 35-year-old female asked:

I had lap surgery 01/16, removed 4cm simple cyst on right ovary & both fallopian tubes (right tube was stuck to pelvic sidewall from tl surgery in 2011) started period 2/3, very painful cramps, back pain, & heavy flow, is this normal after surgery?

See your surgeon: Anytime there is pain after surgery, it is a very good idea to discuss your issues with your surgeon. Menses for the first few cycles are very commonly more painful shortly after surgery on ovaries and tubes, however other issues could also be occurring and need to be evaluated
