Likely migraine: Sounds like a migraine with a preceding aura. Unfortunately these are relatively common for some & you may need to get help managing them if this becomes a pattern. You can try common pain meds but sleep is one sure way to get rid of one. I wouldn't be worried you have a deadly problem. although it is no fun.
