My insurance doesn't cover birth control. what is the safest and most cost-effective method? i'm on depo now and have been for about a month and was on the pill before. i am afraid the depo has too many "other" effects.

Depends: Used properly, condoms are effective. I have seen packs of a dozen offered at many convenience or dollar stores. You can't get much cheaper than that. Many of the pills are available in generic forms & discount cards can be found in many doc offices or on line.
