Can clotrimazole and betamethasone dipropionate be used for hemorrhoids?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hemorrhoid treatment: Hemorrhoids are basically hernias of blood vessels through the mucosal layer of the rectum. They are painful when active, and the best treatment is a topical anesthetic such as "lidocaine". The ointment does not provide long relief, but surgery on hemorrhoids creates a long and very painful recovery. Steroids such as Betamethasone can decrease inflammation, but also are temporary.
