IUD/pain,bldg: Severe pain and bleeding with an IUD in place may indicate that uterine contractions have pushed the IUD into the cervical canal, causing the pain/bleeding. See your gyn provider for an exam and possible removal of the IUD. Get a serum HCG test to make sure you are not pregnant, since the effectiveness of the IUD may have been lost.
