Depends: While this number for total cholesterol is slightly high, more importantly is the breakdown as to how high your LDL and HDL are. You may have an unusually high HDL which is typically more protective, but may result in a higher total cholesterol number. The goal range for cholesterol depends on your underlying medical conditions, and is primarily based on LDL levels.
