Vaccines: Depending on the infection, antibiotics start working in hours to days. A way to tell if an antibiotic is working is if your daughter’s symptoms, such as fever, chills, or overall weakness, are improving. By now, after a whole week, your daughter should have shown sign of improvement. The antibiotic may not be effective. Either way, it’s time to let your doctor about her progress.
