Progesterone pills: Generally we recommend avoiding birth control pills that contain Estrogen and Progesterone in women who are breastfeeding. We typically prescribe Progesterone only pills when lactating. We also recommend other nonEstrogen containing methods such as IUDs, Implants and the Depoprovera injection,
