It depends...: Vestibular papillomatosis is normal, just a minor anatomic difference in some women's genital tissues usually of the labia minor or vaginal opening. There are no good data on its frequency, but probably it's present in a very small minority of women. OTOH some gynecologists and STD experts see it frequently because of women who are concerned or have questions about it. But nothing to worry about!

Yes!: I see it all the time in my practice. It's important that an experienced GYN make the diagnosis, because it can be confused with condyloma by inexperienced clinicians. Also, the papillations can become more prominent when the tissues are inflamed, like with a yeast infection. Hope that helps!
