See below: Hi. The primary component of Pyridium is phenazopyridine which is an “azo” dye/pigment that colors the urine a reddish-orange. It is harmless but can stain clothes and contact lenses. It has an analgesic effect and helps reduce the discomfort associated with UTIs and other inflammatory conditions that affect the lower urinary tract.
