Bronchospasm..,: Sometimes, after an upper respiratory infection or acute bronchitis, bronchospasm occurs that results in this "lingering cough." treatment includes bronchodilator and steroid inhalers until it completely resolves, usually over a few weeks. If you smoke, you need to quit asap. See your doctor so this can be diagnosed and treated.
