Clomid/HCG: Ovulation induction by clomid can produce an LH surge which can in turn cause release of an egg. On day 24, the LH produced by clomid is back to zero. HCG can be detected if pregnancy occurs, but day 24 is a little early for HCG detection, but is possible. If your physician gave you a shot of HCG to aid with ovulation, this can still be present at day 24 and may be the cause of OPK positives.
