Panic: I'm not sure it's been timed. It would be accompanied bythings like sweating, rapid breathing & heart rate, numbness round the mouth & fingers, etc. The point: panic attacks can be helped by a psychiatrist with medication and psychotherapy. If in doubt check with a psychiatrist and see if the diagnosis fits. Then treat. My patients usually do much better.

Usually Peaks @10min: "panic attacks tend to start quickly and reach a peak within 10 minutes. The peak generally lasts for about 5 to 10 minutes before the symptoms start to settle. However, it can take quite some time for all the symptoms to subside." source = page on panic disorder (adults) by the anxiety disorders assn' of british columbia in canada.
