A member asked:

Is there any contraindication to getting rabies vaccine if i'm currently being treated with coumadin for a dvt in my neck (ij)?

Rabies vaccination: Other than bleeding at the injection site I see no problems with your getting the needed rabies vaccine unless your INR is way above therapeutic range. Just apply good amount of pressure at the injection site to facilitate coagulation there. Get your INR checked before and 1 week after. Your pharmacist has access to more information about any possible interactions.. Also ask him/ her this question
