A member asked:

I have had pink eye for over three weeks. it's viral. can crying worsen the infection? it seems to have gotten worse the mornjng after crying.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No effect: Crying may cause some dilation of the vessels on the front of the eye as well as, of course, extra tears. But the course of the infection depends upon your immune response which should be fully activated after three weeks. I hope you have nothing to cry about.
