Bloody diarrhea: Diarrhea associated with passage of bright red blood could be indicative of serious inflammatory disease of the colon such as an invasive intestinal tract infection or acute ulcerative colitis. However the blood could be coming from hemorrhoids. Either way it must be investigated. If bleeding is very brisk you should go to the hospital room where prompt evaluation and treatment is available
