My 16 mth old has a double ear infection and a cold (a lot of mucus). is it ok to give her whole milk or will that make the mucus worse? she is on amoxicillin, will the milk affect the antibiotic?

Milk is okay!: Milk is okay, itis a myth that it makes mucus worse. Don't give her milk within an hour to hour and a half before or after the antibiotic, as it can interfere with absorption of the antibiotic. This is true for all meds, except those that say "take with food." Same thing goes for antacids. Hope she is better by Xmas! If she is, I know that you will be, too. Happy Holidays!
