FIRST OF ALL: STOP LIFTING! Rest your back,....apply ICE/HEAT (whichever works best) and speak with your Primary Care Provider who may wish to prescribe a muscle relaxant. AVOID OPIATES! OTC Ibuprofen may be helpful! (as well as formal PHYSICAL THERAPY) Restart weights ONLY AFTER you are "cleared" by your PCP/or Physical therapist!! Hope this is helpful! Dr Z
