May be serious: Lid puffiness of both lids can be caused by allergies, thyroid disease, or kidney disease. Check with your primary MD for thyroid and kidney function. Check to see if you have allergies to dust mites, mold or mildews. If the swelling is only on one side, you should see an ophthalmologist for an assessment, as the list of causes is longer and some of them can be more serious.
