Can i use vicks vaporub on my 7 month old?

Use if you wish: I NEVER EVER recommend it for small children.Their airways are often irritated and react to the stuff with increasing cough and congestion.Adults seem to do well with it.

Why?: If your baby has a congested nose the best treatment is saline drops to help clear secretions. Babies breathe through their noses more than their mouths which means a blocked nose is more distressing for them. Putting vaporub under the nose is a bad idea as it is very likely to burn the sensitive skin. Putting it on the chest may also burn the skin + will not make them get better any faster.
