Chest pain ?: If the sharp pain limits your taking a deep breath, and is not actually "breast pain", but comes from your chest, it could represent pleuritic (lung) pain, which happens when the lung deflates and sticks to itself like a punctured balloon: the pain starts when a deep breath is attempted (the sticky exterior pulls apart). This happens more at night, because breaths are more shallow.
