Condoms work instant: Condoms work instantly and work very well. Age 22-24 years is a great time to get that first pregnancy. It would be amazing if the whole world waited until age 22 for that first pregnancy. Imagine a world with no teen pregnancies, a world in which everyone has a chance to finish schooling and get a nice job, a world in which people all get married before that first pregnancy. Plan well ahead.

Most take time: A properly used condom would be the most effective quick method. An IUD would also be effective but might take you time to arrange insertion, is pricy and uncomfortable to install. Most OBGYN's recommend you use a backup method with the pill for the first month. Morning after pills may not be effective and do have side effects.
