Start with cool pack: In general, we recommend ice initially for an acute injury of the knee. This is to minimize the swelling. Then after 48 hours switch to heat to increase the blood flow and increase healing. Rest, ice, wrap and elevate or 'RICE' are tips for handling acute injury. Best of luck, if no better within the week, get a good exam in a face to face visit.
