A member asked:

My sis started to take contraceptive pills two months ago but she still having her period. is the pill being active even so? can she have sex?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Steady bldg./oral bc: Low dose oral contraceptives require being punctual, which means taking them regularly and at about the same time each evening. Any deviation in time of ingestion can produce withdrawal bleeding on a constant basis. The pill will still work for contraception, unless some pills due are skipped or delayed.
