What is question?: Constipation in toddlers is not unusual, and if stools become large and painful, the child is now old enough to start to have some control and to hold back on passing stools, which aggravates the problem. Limit cheese and bananas and try prunes in the diet. Long term use of stool softeners or laxatives may be necessary.
