No: Fever associated with viral illness generally lasts from 3-4 days to a week. An affected child remain somewhat fussy, appetite may remain low, activity level lower than usual. Drastic changes such as heavy breathing or becoming lethargic prompt reevaluation right away. Fever lasting longer than 7 days deserves another evaluation even if serious bacterial infection or something else is uncommon.
