Dr. David Trettin answered

Specializes in Orthopedic Surgery

Discuss w/ ORS: Discuss w/ your ORS.Artificial heart valves are fairly common and do not represent a contraindication for hip replacement.Active skin lesions, dental caries and urinary tract infections are the most common reasons in my experience for cancellation of elective joint replacement surgery.Hip replacement surgery performed well provides pain relief and greatly improves quality of life. Best of Luck!
