A member asked:

I have a uti and it usually gets severe for me. what otc medication can i take? is drinking water with apple cider vinegar recommended?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Water alone is best: Be sure you formally see ypue doctor if you have worsening UTI symptoms as this will need treatment to avoid a kidney infection or spread of bacteria to the blood stream. For OTC remedies, try AZO for pain that occurs with urination. Cranberry tablets are good as well due to a component of the fruit that makes it more difficult for bacteria to take hold in your urinary tract. Keep the water plain!
