Getting Help.: If you are having difficulty with hypervigilance, nightmares, insomnia, avoidance of stimuli, and over-arousal from triggers then therapy is your best bet. Cognitive processing therapy is probably your best bet for therapy if there were multiple traumatic events. Emdr can be very helpful for simple ptsd (one event). Medications may be needed for moderate to severe sx. Good luck.
