A member asked:

Is there a diagnosis for when you have months of severe depression then months of good mood (not manic) then months of suicidal depression again?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depression : Yes, there is a diagnosis. It is always best to have a complete physical exam first to rule out any physical illness contributing to the depression. Then it would be good to consult with a Clinical Psychologist for a diagnosis and psychotherapy treatment. Medication can also be important to help.
