Anyone have information on vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) vs adderal to treat add and which is better?

Similar: Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) and Adderall are two very similar medications use to treat add/adhd. It is hard to say which one is "better" because it all depends on how each one interacts with an individual's own body chemistry. Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) may be better for one individual and Adderall may be better for another. As these two medications are very similar, your doctor will prescribe based on your individual traits.

It depends: Both meds are similar. Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) i believe now has a generic form, whic is not the case with vyvance, which would clearly be a potential financial savings. Still some insurances or payment sources will not approve vyvance as a first line drug, you would need to fail Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) or other similar drugs, sometimes even 2 before vyvance is uses. For many people vyvance seems to be easier to tolerate, l.

Abuse potential?: Theoretically, there is less abuse potential with vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine). But in the end they are both stimulants and either may be effective. Often the choice is made based on effectiveness and tolerability.
