Follow up ASAP: Depends on the cause. Possibilities include hypothyroidism , Pituitary tumors, or thyroid disease . Only a doctor can determine the cause by proper history, physical and appropriate laboratory/imaging tests . It is dangerous if nothing is done. Please see your health care provider to receive appropriate medical care for this abnormal test result. Whoever ordered The test should provide followup.
