IBS: If this has been going on for weeks and is not due to a recent bout of viral intestinal tract infection or food poisoning, it is characteristic of irritable bowel syndrome or a very active gastrocolic reflux occurring when food hits the stomach. The type of food usually doesn't matter. Taking an antispasmodic medication like bentyl 1/2 hour before the meal can block this reaction.Discuss with MD
